weekly lottery punjab

Punjab Lottery

The Punjab Lottery has been running since 1968 and is administered by a wing of the Finance Department of the Punjab Government with the aim of providing a clean and transparent lottery. The Punjab holds regular Bumper lottery draws and used to offer weekly and monthly draws with a declared turnover surpassing 55 crore. Each ‘scheme’, or draw is defined by the Finance Department to include the number of tickets that will be issued, the name of the lottery and the date on which the draw will take place – usually the date changes, but the number of tickets remains the same.

On the date of the draw, retailers return details of the tickets that haven’t been sold to the director, so these are not included in the draw. The Punjabi State Lottery Director is also at liberty to increase or decrease the number of tickets in each draw after the scheme has been announced. Draws take place in the Zila Parishad Building, located in Ludigarh, Punjab.

All winners of Punjab State lotteries are required to submit a claim form along with additional documents proving ownership and identity.

Punjab Bumper Lottery Scheme

The only lotttery draws that take place in Punjab these days are the Bumper Lottery draws which take place several times a year. These are:

The Bumper Lottery Scheme draws work similarly to the old monthly draws. There are usually a large number of prizes available to win from 150 rupees up to an impressive Rs. 15,000,000. Each of the colourful tickets displays a number made up of six digits between 000000 and 999999. Ticket prices range from Rs. 100 to Rs. 200. Players are advised to check with their local lottery agent for further information.

Punjab Monthly Lottery

Powerball Winning Numbers For 8/14/2019 Drawing: $138M Jackpot

Here are the winning Powerball numbers for the jackpot drawing on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.

    Deb Belt , Patch Staff

The Powerball jackpot has reached $138 million for the winning ticket on Wednesday, Aug. 14. The one-time cash payout for tonight’s Powerball drawing will be $96 million.

The winning Powerball numbers are drawn every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time, with Powerball results usually posted within five minutes.

In most states, ticket sales halt at least one hour before the drawing, but a state is allowed to end sales earlier, such as Illinois, which stops sales three hours before the drawing. In Maryland and New Jersey, ticket sales end at 9:59 p.m.; in Virginia, they close at 10 p.m. Check with your state lottery for the cut-off time.

The winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday, August 14, are: 10, 13, 30, 51, 69 and the Powerball of 10.

The largest Powerball jackpot in history was $1.586 billion, which was shared by winners in California, Florida and Tennessee in January 2016.

A player in South Carolina claimed the $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot on Oct. 23, 2018, game officials said; the winner chose not to be identified.

To win the Powerball jackpot a player must match all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball number. The odds of picking the correct Powerball grand prize numbers are one in 292,201,338, which doesn’t change even if more players buy tickets when the jackpot is huge.

You have a better chance of winning the Powerball jackpot if you let the computer select your numbers, according to the officials with the lottery. About 75 percent of winning tickets over the years had numbers picked by a computer.

French Lottery Info

Loto as it’s known is France is played Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The game differs to the majority of other games as only five balls are selected plus the bonus. Not many bookies currently take bets on the outcome but you’ll get 7/1 for matching one number and 99999/1 for matching all five. We found that you actually get better odds betting on the Spanish Lottery!

Nebraska Powerball Numbers

Nebraska once held the record for having the biggest Powerball jackpot winner after a group of co-workers banked $365 million in 2006. A host of other lucky players have also come from the Cornhusker State, which is also the only state in the U.S. where the minimum age to play the lottery is 19. View the latest Nebraska Powerball numbers below.

Wednesday’s Powerball drawing saw players in Nebraska account for 0.58% of all Powerball winners. This places the state just ahead of Arkansas in the list of the most winners in this draw.

State Specific Rules

The fundamentals of playing Powerball are the same in Nebraska as in every other state. However, once you have chosen your numbers and decided whether or not to add Power Play, there are a few rules specific to Nebraska which may differ to other jurisdictions.

  • You have to be at least 19 years old to buy a ticket.
  • Tickets can be purchased anytime from 5:00am CT to 3:00am CT the following day, apart from between 9:00pm and 9:03pm on draw nights.
  • You can enter the same numbers for up to 12 weeks (24 draws) by marking the multi-draw box on your playslip.
  • All prizes above $5,000 will be subject to a five percent state tax.

How to Claim Prizes

You should complete and sign the back of your ticket to prove that it belongs to you. If you lose your ticket and it has not been signed, you have no right to make a claim.

You can claim prizes of up to $500 from any licensed lottery retailer in Nebraska, but awards between $501 and $19,999 need to be redeemed at a regional center or by mail. Prizes of $20,000 or more must be claimed in person at Nebraska Lottery headquarters. It is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm CT (9:00am to 6:00pm ET) Monday through Friday and the address and telephone number are as follows:

Claim Period

You must claim any Powerball prizes you win within 180 days of the draw taking place. Use the Number Checker to see if you might be due a prize. If you win the jackpot, you have a further 60 days to decide whether you would like to take the annuity or the lump sum option.

Going Public

If you win a prize in Nebraska, you can keep your name out of the public eye by setting up a trust. State law requires that claims can only be filed under the name of an individual or a legal entity. If you don’t set up a trust you will therefore be unable to stay anonymous and your name, city of residence, and the amount you won will be released publicly.

Where Does the Money Go?

Approximately 57 percent of the Nebraska Lottery’s revenue is used as prize money. Once the prize money has been paid out and expenses covered, there is around 24 percent remaining to go towards education and environmental initiatives. This money is distributed quarterly to beneficiary funds, and the Nebraska Lottery has contributed more than $700 million to worthy causes since it started in 1993. The money has been funneled into projects in all 93 of the state’s counties. The money for good causes is distributed as follows:

Beneficiary Breakdown of Funds
Nebraska Education Improvement Fund 44.5%
Nebraska Environmental Trust Fund 44.5%
Nebraska State Fair 10%
Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund 1%

Education and the environment are the biggest winners, with each sector receiving 44.5 percent of the proceeds. The Nebraska State Fair is given 10 percent every year to spend on improving the facilities. The Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund receives the remaining one percent, plus the first $500,000 in proceeds each fiscal year.

Nebraska Powerball Winners

Nebraskan players have enjoyed considerable success on Powerball since tickets went on sale in the state in 1994. Lyle and Diann Fleharty of Hastings even won a $50 million jackpot just nine days after the game was launched in Nebraska, donating some of their winnings to help a local college build a state-of-the-art sports complex.

The biggest win in the state came on February 18th 2006, when a pool of eight colleagues won $365 million. At the time it was the largest jackpot ever seen on Powerball, and it was claimed by eight co-workers at the ConAgra meat processing plant in Lincoln. They chose the cash option of $177 million and had little sympathy for the colleagues who had not joined the group. Alain Maboussou, one of the winners, said: “When it’s a pool day, we ask people to put like in five bucks, so if you wasn’t there or you didn’t put five bucks in, sorry.”
